All parents of students are automatically part of our PAC and are invited to our upcoming meeting. We didn’t have a quorum (10 people) at the last meeting so we couldn’t:
- Elect replacements for our treasurer and vice chair positions that have recently been vacated
- Make a decision regarding school request for money to support computer purchases
We are also looking for prizes for our raffle that we are holding during the Winter Concert. This raffle will help raise money for a projector for the gym and musical equipment for all students to use. If you have a business or know of one who would like to donate, we truly appreciate the donations! If you are able to help with donations or help with selling the raffle tickets at our concerts Dec 19/20 12:30 – 1:30pm / 5 – 6 pm, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our PAC will again be hosting our pancake breakfast with Santa on Wednesday, December 6. We are looking for help with:
- Set up (Tuesday, Dec. 5: 3:00 – 4:00 pm)
- Serving (Wednesday, Dec. 6: 9:00 – 11:00 am)
- Clean up (Wednesday, Dec. 6: 10:30 – 11:30 am)
If you are interested in helping with our Pancake Breakfast please email email@example.com
Our upcoming PAC meeting will also provide information from our recent school climate survey completed by our grade 5 -7 students and our plans to help students in their social -emotional development.
For our Pirate Christmas musical, we would like students to dress for their roles. Please see the links below for further information. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s music teacher. Ticket requests for evening performances will be sent home with students. Due to the size of our gym, only ticketholders will be able to attend evening performances.

School in Burnaby is not necessarily closed if it is snowing nor do students stay inside at recess and lunch if it is raining, below freezing or snowing. Students should come dressed to go outside for recess and lunch. We also strongly recommend that students walk to school when it is raining or snowing as there is very limited access for cars in front of the school.
Weather Related School Closures
The latest white fluff in the air last night is reminding us that winter is on its way! That means it is time to remind you of how you might learn of any weather related school closures.
All schools will remain OPEN, unless there is heavy snowfall, damage or other circumstances (e.g. power outage) that make it impossible to operate safely. In the event there are certain schools or the entire district closed due to snow, or any other weather-related issues, announcements will be made on local radio stations by 7 a.m. on the day of the closure. Please do not call the radio station – tune in and listen for the announcements, or check the radio station websites.
Closure information will also be posted on the district website at www.burnabyschools.ca and on Twitter @burnabyschools (please follow us!). However, keep in mind that there may be situations where this is not possible, for example, if there are power outages or technical problems. The most reliable way to get school closure information is to listen to the local radio stations.
Information will only be provided on school closures. If there is no closure information, our schools are open for learning! However, the decision to send your child to school or not is ultimately a family decision.
